How we estimate capacity
Each listing publishes the maximum load and the load at the jib tip. Between them we assume a constant load moment (tip load × jib length), a cautious approximation for tower and self-erecting cranes. The result helps you choose which models to ask about. The final decision is based on the manufacturer load chart, the exact crane configuration and a site check by a FORTZA specialist.
What does “distance from the crane” mean?
It is the working radius: the horizontal distance between the crane axis and the point where the load has to be set down or picked up. The greater the distance, the less the crane can lift.
Which height under hook should I choose?
The height of the highest point of the building, plus room for the load and slings (usually 3–5 m). For a five-storey building of about 15 m, look for at least 19–20 m under the hook.
Is the result a guarantee that the crane can lift the load?
No. It is an estimate for pre-selection. The actual capacity depends on the model load chart, the configuration, the wind and the ground. We always confirm with the technical documentation before making an offer.
I cannot find a suitable model. What should I do?
